| CD-Blaster was a Dynamite Blaster/Masterblaster inspired game written in AMOS Pro for the Amiga. It was made back in 1995. Gustav Markkula coded most of the game, while I did the graphics and some additional coding. Markus Bernheden wrote the music playing during the menu. The game was originally designed to run on an Amiga 500 with 1MB of RAM, but I later added some features and animations that required 2Mb of RAM. The 3d modelling and rendering was made in Imagine 2.0 (or 3.0, I cannot remember which it was), with a 32 color palette. It was rendered on my Amiga 1200 with a 68030 40MHz CPU and 18MB of RAM. The drawn graphics was produced in DeluxePaint IV. The game was actually completed, which is a bit uncommon for spare-time projects like this. It's was not exactly the greatest game out there, but I think it was pretty fun. It certainly has nostalgic value for me. I have made disc images (.adf files) of the game. If you have WinUAE or another Amiga emulator, you can play it on your PC. Or you can play it on an Amiga of course. The intro runs a bit slowly in WinUAE for some reason, but the game itself works quite well on an average machine. |
